This 2nd international conference addresses the opportunities and challenges of transitioning to 100% renewable energy across sectors. The theme of the 2017 conference is Toward Electrifcation In All Sectors, in view of increasingly essential role the electricity sector is set to play in extending the many benefits of renewable energy across sectors, including transportation, buildings, and the energy grid.

PV60 – History Becoming the Future
Celebrating the 60th Birthday of Solar’s Big Breakthrough On April 25, 1954, scientists at Bell Laboratories demonstrated the most significant breakthrough in the history of solar energy – a solar cell capable of directly converting enough sunlight into electricity to generate useful amounts of power.
Pathways To 100% Renewable Energy
The first international conference in the Americas focused on 100% renewable energy targets and solutions
At this first of its kind forum, participants gathered from 4 continents and more than 10 countries for a packed agenda of discussions about the many opportunities, benefits, and complexities of transitioning to a 100% renewable energy system. The conference included more than 40 esteemed speakers from a wide cross-section of stakeholders from around the world, including several Mayors and other national and subnational government leaders, grid operators, industry executives, labor leaders, and NGOs.
Plug-in Electric Vehicles Financing Strategies Workshop
On February 1, 2013, over 120 key stakeholders gathered at Golden Gate University in San Francisco for a workshop focused on outlining the scope of investment opportunities throughout the Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV) sector, identifying barriers and obstacles to capitalization, and discussing how policy initiatives might support PEV financing mechanisms. Renewables 100 Policy Institute helped organize the event, which was sponsored by the Offices of the California Governor and Treasurer and the California PEV Collaborative.
