Under 2 MOU / Under2 Coalition
In the face of inertia among national governments in advance of the COP 21 in Paris, and in recognition of critical efforts of subnational leaders, the Renewables 100 Policy Institute kickstarted a subnational government global agreement – known as the Under2MOU / Under2 Coalition – to lower signatories greenhouse gas emissions at least 80% below 1990 levels or to under two tons of carbon per capita by midcentury. Pathways to 100% Renewable Energy Conference
We launched the first conference in the Americas to focus on 100% renewable energy targets and solutions – Pathways to 100% Renewable Energy – which between 2013 and 2018 brought together senior leaders from across disciplines from several countries, catalyzed a watershed of new 100% renewable energy targets and campaigns around the country and the world, and helped bring the idea of 100% renewable energy from bleeding edge to cutting edge.
