2nd International Conference
Irvine, CA | May 11-12, 2017
Overview
Pathways to 100% Renewable Energy gathers top experts to address the opportunities and challenges in transitioning to 100% renewable energy across sectors. The event focuses on the urgent need for this transformation to protect our environment, strengthen economies, and drive innovation.
The theme of the 2017 conference is Toward Electrification in All Sectors, in view of the increasingly essential role the electricity sector is set to play in meeting climate and renewable energy goals in California and beyond, as the sector transcends its traditional functions to include cutting edge purposes like powering electric transportation and producing renewable heat, gases, and fuels.
When the Renewables 100 Policy Institute launched the Pathways to 100% Renewable Energy conference in San Francisco in 2013, it became the first forum in the Americas to focus on 100% renewable energy targets and solutions. Since that time, hundreds more regions representing tens of millions more people, along with numerous businesses and institutions, have committed to going 100% renewable in at least one sector. The event in May will present a chance to review this progress and the many steps ahead in expanding the advancement toward all renewable energy systems in ways that are reliable, efficient, and economically beneficial to the most people.
